Choosing
Work games on your computer
Every game here runs in a browser tab you already have open. There’s no download and no sign-in, and your scores stay on your device. The corporate jargon quiz takes a couple of minutes. Bingo lasts as long as the meeting does, which is the one thing it can’t fix.
Why a browser tab beats a console
The old way to play at work was a handheld console in a fort of cardboard boxes at the back of the stockroom. It works until the day somebody needs a box. A browser tab needs no fort. From across the room it passes for work, and it closes with one key.
Lunch is the one hour a game is fair play. The daily quiz fits inside it with time left to eat.
Games that look like work
The boss key game is the stockroom fort without the boxes. You play Snake and hit one key before the boss reaches your desk. The fake work screen skips the game and fills your monitor with a spreadsheet and a ticket board while you think.
Work games to play with coworkers
Bingo is the one made for a group. One person starts a room, and everyone who opens the link gets a card of their own. The quiz works as a team game too, since everyone on the same date plays the same five and can post a score in the team chat.
Keep the scores in the chat. A leaderboard pinned up in the meeting room turns into a KPI by the next quarter.
Questions
What games can be played in the office?
Anything that fits in a browser tab and a few minutes. A daily quiz, a round of bingo during a meeting and a game that hides behind a fake spreadsheet all run without installing a thing. IT has nothing to find.
What are some fun games to play at work meetings?
Buzzword bingo, because the speaker calls the words without knowing it. A shared quiz works too. Everyone gets the same five questions, so the scores can go round the team chat once the meeting lets out.
What are some fun work activities?
Short ones with no booking and no budget. Five minutes of a game at your desk, or a round of bingo in the Monday meeting, asks nothing of anyone who'd rather sit it out. Anything with a sign-up sheet tends to turn compulsory.
What are good games to play at work?
Quick, quiet and easy to put down when someone walks past. A daily puzzle you finish in a few minutes works, and so does a game with a key that swaps it for a spreadsheet in one press.
